Statement

Gross Positive Art
We want no art about, no art with, and no art made from gas and oil.

We don’t want to see any more artists in the Amazon or Antarctica. We don’t want to see any more art made from fungal spores or wild bees. We don’t want to see any more art about Indigenous peoples or political activists. We don’t want to see any more photographs of global destruction. We don’t want to see any more foolish greenwashing art. We want you to stay at home and shut up.

We want to see art that no longer plays along, that refuses, that goes on strike. We want to see art that destroys destructive art. We want to see art that hacks banks and insurance companies. We want to see art that chases away billionaires and demolishes industrial capitalism. We want to see art that blows up pipelines and undersea cables, airport terminals and art museums. We want to see art that fights for human and animal survival. In other words, for us.

Artists, stay home. Stop producing. Go on an art moratorium. Do nothing. Do nothing for a very long time. Just breathe. And then help clean up the mess. And then help build a new society. One that doesn’t take and destroy. But gives back and builds up.

Don’t live against nature.
Live from it. Live with it.
